Job summary

Amgen seeks a hands-on Sr. Scientist Bioinformatics in Computational Biology, Proteomics, to develop computational tools and data infrastructure supporting the Discovery Proteomics Group at the South San Francisco campus.

The role combines proteomics expertise with software engineering to enable biomarker discovery, target evaluation, and mechanism‑of‑action studies. A PhD or equivalent with strong coding and data analysis skills is required.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree required.
• Master's degree with 3+ years scientific experience or Bachelor's with 5+ years experience.
• Fluency in Python, R, and SQL; experience with data processing and visualization.

Responsibilities

• Develop computational tools and data infrastructure for proteomics in Discovery Proteomics.
• Perform statistical analysis, data ingestion, and pipeline implementation for proteomics data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present analysis results to stakeholders.
