Job summary

Amgen seeks a Sr. Scientist in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Proteomics to lead data‑intensive analyses in the Discovery Proteomics group at the South San Francisco campus.

You will build computational tools, analyze proteomics datasets, and collaborate across disciplines to enable biomarker discovery and mechanism‑of‑action studies. The role requires a PhD or an advanced degree with substantial experience in proteomics, biology, or chemistry, plus expertise in Python/R/SQL,

Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Proteomics, or Biology.
• Experience in large-scale quantitative proteomics and other omics data analysis.
• Fluency in Python, R, and SQL, with familiarity in statistical analysis and data visualization.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and cloud computing (AWS).
• Experience with version control, Docker, and reproducible data analysis practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data analysis, management, and visualization strategies for proteomics data.
• Collaborate with scientists from different functions and therapeutic areas and present results to stakeholders.
• Integrate data across genomic and proteomic platforms for data mining and biomarker discovery.
• Translate experimental needs into fit-for-purpose computational solutions and pipelines.
