Job summary

The Farmer's Dog seeks a Senior Manager, Protein Procurement to lead protein sourcing and supplier management across its supply chain. You will drive partnerships, onboarding of new partners, and risk frameworks with the Director, Protein Procurement, collaborating with Manufacturing, FSQR, Finance, and Supply Chain leadership.

You’ll be a key escalation point for material supply risk, shaping KPIs, cost models, and contingency plans to empower the Planning and Procurement teams to act

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing, with cross-functional leadership.
• Proven experience negotiating supplier contracts and managing performance at scale.
• Strong leadership, influencing skills, and ability to guide partners without formal authority.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, plus analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with KPI frameworks, forecasting, and cost/budget reporting.
• Project management experience and autonomy in driving initiatives.
• Deep understanding of MRP and regulatory familiarity (USDA/FDA).

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of the protein raw material procurement strategy across all plants.
• Resolve complex supply issues, drive RCAs, and develop escalation frameworks.
• Manage supplier and co-manufacturer relationships, including contracting and pricing.
• Oversee supplier KPI framework and corrective action initiatives.
• Own end-to-end material forecasting, translating trends into actionable narratives.
• Lead new supplier sourcing, vetting, risk assessment, and terms negotiation.
• Track procurement budget and flag cost risks to leadership.
