Job summary

Sanofi US seeks a Protein ML Senior Principal Data Scientist in Waltham, MA to design and deploy ML models predicting protein properties for next-generation vaccines. You will bridge computational and bench science to translate insights into vaccine candidates and contribute to immunogenicity, stability, and manufacturability predictions.

You'll work with protein language models, foundational AI, and state-of-the-art tools like AlphaFold/OpenFold to advance vaccine design.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Biophysics or related field.
• At least 2 years of industry or academic experience with protein modeling and ML.
• Fluent English communication across teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop state-of-the-art protein property prediction models focusing on immunogenicity, stability, and manufacturability for vaccine design.
• Refine language-based protein representations to accelerate vaccine candidate identification.
• Analyze relationships between protein sequences, structures, and data to build generalizable representations for programs.
• Collaborate with structural biology, protein design, and bench teams to steer modeling strategy and improve models.
• Maintain robust, reproducible modeling code and documentation.
