Job summary

Sanofi in Waltham, MA seeks a Principal Data Scientist to lead AI/ML and hybrid modeling for recombinant protein vaccine process development and manufacturing. You will work across process development, analytical sciences, and manufacturing to translate data into actionable insights and scalable models.

Qualifications

PhD in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Computational Biology, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
2+ years of pharma industry experience.
Experience applying data science, ML, and process modeling in biopharma including recombinant protein production.
Proficiency with Python, R, MATLAB, JMP, gPROMS, GoSilico, or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

Lead AI, ML, mechanistic, and hybrid modeling solutions for vaccine process development and manufacturing.
Apply advanced analytics to identify critical parameters and optimize performance.
Develop modeling solutions for upstream CHO culture and cell line development.
Support downstream purification optimization via data-driven approaches.
Build and deploy digital twins, simulations, and decision-support tools.
