Job summary

Shermco seeks a Protection and Control Engineer to lead complex power systems projects for industrial clients. You will mentor junior engineers and provide expert technical support to ensure reliable power distribution solutions.

The role involves conducting power system studies, relay programming, and developing detailed diagrams. Travel to customer sites will be required, with involvement in bidding and project proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Systems.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in power systems.
• Experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment.
• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA70E and local codes.
• Experience with short-circuit, protection coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies.
• Experience using power system software (SKM/ETAP/ASPEN/Easy Power).
• AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and support customers.
• Ensure engineering work complies with IEEE/NFPA standards and Shermco quality.
• Perform onsite customer visits to gather data and review plans.
• Configure and program relay protections (SEL, GE Multilin) for distribution systems.
• Prepare and review electrical drawing packages and specifications.
