Job summary

Shermco Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE preferred) to lead complex power distribution projects for industrial clients. The role requires mentoring junior engineers, coordinating multi-discipline teams, and delivering designs that meet IEEE/NFPA standards.

You will develop detailed design drawings for 480V and below systems, perform short-circuit studies, arc-flash analysis, and provide on-site field support, ensuring projects meet schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; PE preferred.
5+ years of engineering experience with facilities power systems.
Experience with low voltage equipment for power distribution.
Experience applying NEC, NFPA70E and local codes.
Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and motor starting.
Experience using power system software such as SKM and ETAP, or other modeling tools.
Knowledge and use of proper drafting techniques; AutoCAD experience.
Strong written and spoken English.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Mentor less experienced Electrical Engineers in support of customers.
Ensure engineering analyses, studies follow IEEE and NFPA standards and Shermco excellence.
Review and approve ongoing work; ensure accuracy and high quality.
Make onsite visits to customer sites; gather information and address issues.
Collaborate with sales on estimating and bidding; co-present proposals.
Coordinate with mechanical, civil, structural engineers and architects.
