Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to own requirements development, verification, and validation for spacecraft propulsion. You will collaborate across analysis, test, and design teams to ensure compliant, production-ready propulsion systems from concept to production.

The role requires leading system architecture, risk assessments, and participation in reviews, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and support mission assurance activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in aerospace system design, project management or related system-level roles.
• BS in Aerospace, Systems or Mechanical Engineering (or related technical subject).
• Experience applying aerospace systems engineering processes – design reviews, requirements verification and validation, failure and risk assessments.
• Demonstrated organization skills.
• Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Define, verify, and maintain requirements for In-Space components and systems.
• Create and manage system engineering tools and processes.
• Coordinate with analysis and test teams on verification activities to ensure compliance.
• Support acceptance and qualification test campaigns to ensure requirement coverage and compliance.
• Contribute to and participate in program reviews and design reviews throughout the program lifecycles.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Systems Engineering associates to advance their proficiency.
