Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Propulsion Engineer – Level 5 in Promontory, UT to lead material-led initiatives and drive cross-functional collaboration across the propulsion systems teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (STEM) with 12 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree (STEM) with 10 years of professional experience – OR – PhD (STEM) with 8 years of professional experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
• Strong understanding of materials and processes used in a highly regulated environment.
• Excellent people and technical project management skills
• Experience in conducting material trade studies
• Strong knowledge of and ability to facilitate, coordinate and lead work across Propulsion Systems’ functions and disciplines
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain resilient while overcoming challenges
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Technical Lead and Program Liaison for material issues
• Identify opportunities and drive common materials initiatives
• Lead and manage material obsolescence challenges
• Manger Common engineering change process
• Coordinate and support material compliance
• Train, mentor and support engineers with M&P responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned
