Job summary

Wharton-Smith Construction Group is seeking a Sr. Proposal Specialist located at our Sanford, FL headquarters to lead all phases of proposal preparation for commercial and water treatment projects.

You will manage writing, production and distribution of competitive marketing proposals and presentations in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of proposal experience, construction industry knowledge, and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams while supporting sales

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 5+ years directly related experience in management and development of proposals.
• Experience leading large proposal/bid efforts ($40M+).
• Experience leading proposals for cooperatives, JVs and contracts.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate to compile and track proposal materials per deadlines.
• Assemble proposal documents in various formats with teams.
• Write and edit project summaries and resumes of personnel.
• Ensure consistency with bid requirements and corporate branding.
• Proofread and standardize proposal text for grammar and style.
• Maintain and update the project library across proposal stages.
• Attend milestone events and client selection forums.
• Oversee submission production and awards processes.
• Supervise Proposal Coordinators and Assistants as needed.
• Support general marketing and communications tasks.
• Travel and overtime may be required.
