Harvard University Central Administration is seeking a senior lead for central-office proposal development. You will manage a team, guide pre-award efforts, and collaborate with PIs and departments to align sponsorship strategies with institutional priorities.

You will oversee proposal development standards, provide training, and ensure timely, compliant submissions across multiple departments, with a focus on continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Basic: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 7+ years in the field.
• Advanced knowledge of sponsored research regulations.
• Proven supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for a central-office proposal development team embedded within FAS, including workload planning and development.
• Oversee the full pre-award lifecycle from opportunity identification to final submission and JIT.
• Serve as liaison to divisions, departments, PIs and central units to align strategies and resolve policy risks.
• Develop and refine proposal policies, templates, tools, and metrics; analyze volumes and turnaround times.
• Direct the team’s management of JIT actions and time-sensitive sponsor requests for complex proposals.
• Directly engage in proposal development and JIT work for a portfolio of departments.
