Job summary

The Office for Sponsored Programs (OSP) within Harvard University, part of Financial Administration, seeks a seasoned pre-award professional to manage high-complexity portfolios for faculty-sponsored and non-sponsored research. You will guide proposals, budgets, subawards, and compliance with sponsor and university rules.

Under the Manager of Proposal Development, coordinate with faculty, central offices, and compliance units to ensure timely, policy-compliant submissions and to minimize risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of sponsored research regulations.
• Developing depth of specialization and project leadership are preferred.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and influence policy decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance for proposal development and long-range planning.
• Lead and oversee complex, multi-PI, multi-site proposals including budgets and subawards.
• Interpret funding announcements and translate requirements into workflows for faculty and staff.
• Serve as senior liaison to central units (compliance, finance, legal) and mitigate policy risk.
• Oversee proposal data integrity and implement improvements to processes and dashboards.
• Manage end-to-end Just-in-Time (JIT) workflow for complex awards and ensure timely submissions.

Education
