Job summary

Forvis Mazars, LLP is seeking a seasoned State and Local Tax professional to lead property tax engagements for multi‑jurisdictional clients in Dallas and beyond. You will oversee asset reconciliations, compliance calendars, and protest work while guiding junior staff and delivering strategic, client‑focused insight.

The role requires a CPA or equivalent certification and 4.5+ years in public accounting SALT, tax research experience, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field required.
• 4.5+ years of public accounting tax, property tax, or SALT experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and tax research tools.
• CPA/ASA/CMEA/CMI (Property Tax IPT) certification or JD/LLM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead property tax engagement teams with strategic guidance and oversight for multi‑jurisdictional clients.
• Oversee preparation and maintenance of comprehensive tax calendars for timely compliance.
• Manage fixed asset and inventory reconciliations to support accurate reporting.
• Direct preparation and filing of personal property renditions across jurisdictions.
• Review property tax bills for accuracy and identify savings opportunities.
• Coordinate assessment protests including valuation challenges and appeals.
• Guide consulting projects such as valuation studies and obsolescence analyses.
• Mentor and develop property tax team members for technical growth.
• Develop and maintain client relationships through responsive communication and trusted advisory support.
