Job summary

Starr Insurance Companies in Los Angeles seeks a Property Specialist for our Western United States field team. You will support our technical lines underwriting group, conduct property loss control visits, test fire protection equipment, and perform risk evaluations for prospective and current clients.

You will work with underwriters and management on risk selection and loss estimates, manage client meetings and reports, and develop engineering fee proposals.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of property loss control experience in insurance, consulting, or brokerage.
• Experience servicing technical occupancies such as power generation, O&P, chemical plants, process industries, warehouses, etc.
• Engineering background in civil, mechanical, electrical, or chemical preferred.
• Field-based role in the western United States reporting to the Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct property loss control visits and risk evaluations for prospective and current clients.
• Work with underwriting on risk selection and loss estimates.
• Manage accounts including client meetings, report transmission, and inspection scheduling.
• Develop engineering fee proposals and presentations as needed.
• Handle plan reviews, impairment issues, client questions, and special visits as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date inspection record database.
