Job summary

Affordable Rent seeks a Senior Property Manager to lead strategic and operational efforts across one or more affordable housing properties. You will oversee compliance with LIHTC, HUD Section 8, HOME, and related programs, manage staff, and ensure excellent resident relations while driving financial performance.

You will mentor site staff, coordinate with internal departments and external partners, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing or supportive housing.
• Five years of affordable housing or property management experience preferred.
• At least 3 years of multi-site or large portfolio (exceeding 175 units) experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight to on-site teams, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
• Oversee day-to-day operations ensuring compliance with Fair Housing, Section 42 LIHTC, HOME, and HUD Section 8 programs.
• Lead occupancy and leasing strategy with income eligibility and regulatory rent limits; develop marketing in partnership with internal teams.
• Provide financial oversight including budgets, rent collection, subsidy processing, and monthly reporting.
• Maintain a safe, well-maintained property with preventive maintenance and contractor performance oversight.
• Serve as a liaison for resident engagement and resolve escalated concerns with supportive services to maintain housing stability.
• Promote an inclusive, high-performing work environment focusing on staff development and equity.
