Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or commensurate experience and training.
• Licensing and industry designations preferred (AIC, SCLA, CRIS, etc.).
• 3–5+ years of claims handling experience or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of the insurance industry, including legal/regulatory environments.
• Understanding of substantive laws and legal procedure.

Responsibilities

• Analyze coverage, identify issues, and prepare coverage letters for supervisor approval.
• Investigate and evaluate liability and damages; manage litigation with approved panel counsel.
• Establish reserves within authority and monitor throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate file documentation and timely diary/review processes.
• Negotiate settlements within authority; attend mediations and ADRs.
• Identify opportunities for subrogation, co-insurance, or risk transfer; detect fraud.
