Fortegra is seeking a Property Large Loss General Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex property claims involving large-scale losses. Qualifications

• 15+ years of property claims adjusting experience.
• Active Adjuster Licenses as required by state or ability to obtain.
• Strong technical knowledge of property construction, building codes, and repair methodologies.
• Proficiency with claims technology and estimating software (e.g., Xactimate).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel frequently, including CAT deployments.
• Preferred experience with commercial property, industrial risks, or high-net-worth residential claims.
• Preferred certifications (AIC, CPCU, PCLA, SCLA).
• Experience with independent adjusting firms, insurers, or TPAs.

Responsabilités

• Lead investigations of major property losses, including fire, water, wind, and catastrophe-related damage.
• Conduct on-site inspections to determine scope, cause, and extent of damages.
• Analyze policy coverage, exclusions, and endorsements to establish claim validity.
• Coordinate experts such as engineers, contractors, appraisers, or consultants.
• Develop detailed estimates and settlement valuations using industry tools.
• Manage large, complex files with thorough documentation throughout the life of the claim.
• Communicate with insureds, agents, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders regularly.
• Negotiate fair settlements per policy terms and standards.
• Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate appropriately.
• Serve as SME on high-severity property claims to colleagues and management.
• Mentor junior adjusters and contribute to training.
• Participate in large-loss reviews, audits, and QA programs.
• Prepare reports, coverage analyses, and settlement recommendations for mgmt.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain organized files and meet regulatory reporting timelines.
• Field-based role with significant travel.
• Inspect damaged structures, including climbing and post-disaster work.
• Occasionally work extended hours during CAT events.
