Job summary

Fortegra is seeking a detail-oriented General Liability Claims Adjuster in New Jersey to investigate, evaluate, and resolve general liability claims under close supervision, delivering fair and timely outcomes for all parties.

Reporting to the Manager, Specialty Claims, you will direct management of claims across jurisdictions, handle coverage disputes, coordinate with outside vendors, and maintain a diary system to ensure timely dispositions while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• Minimum 1-3 years of relevant and progressive experience in General Liability claims.
• Adjuster licenses are required as mandated by specific states.

Responsibilities

• Direct management of general liability claims across all jurisdictions.
• Direct management of coverage disputes.
• Formulating claims strategies, assigning and directing outside vendors.
• Promptly investigating all assigned claims to complete coverage, liability, and damages analysis.
• Ensures timely disposition of all claims in accordance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Maintain and manage a diary system to effectively resolve all claims.
• Make recommendations to management pertaining to coverage, settlement positions and file reserves based on reports.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Reinsurers, Underwriters, Actuarial, Brokers, Attorneys, Vendors).
• Participate in Claim Reviews and claim audits.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required.

Job description

This full-time position will report to the Manager, Specialty Claims. We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused General Liability Claims Adjuster to join our claims team. In this role, you will investigate, evaluate, and resolve general liability claims under close supervision, while delivering fair and timely outcomes for all parties involved.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• Minimum 1-3 years of relevant and progressive experience in General Liability claims.
• Adjuster licenses, as mandated by specific states, are required.
