Job summary

Sompo is seeking a seasoned Claims Adjuster for its Property Casualty Claims team. You will manage a claims caseload, investigate and resolve claims, and maintain system records while supporting underwriting and management with regulatory compliance and cost control.

The role requires licenses for New York and Florida, with additional licenses expected; five to ten years of P&C claims experience is preferred, including knowledge of environmental/railroad claims.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of property casualty claims experience.
• Active adjuster licenses for New York and Florida; additional state licenses expected, Texas preferred.
• Strong investigative, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims per policy terms and regulations.
• Analyze coverage issues, establish reserves, and manage disputed claims to resolution.
• Review estimates and related documentation to support accurate handling and financial outcomes.
• Identify and pursue subrogation and recovery opportunities where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide timely information to brokers, clients, underwriters, and stakeholders.
