Job summary

Sompo is seeking a Claims Adjuster for its Property Casualty team. You will manage a claims caseload, investigate, resolve, and document claims while coordinating with brokers, clients, underwriters, and regulators.

Location options include Purchase NY, Rocky Hill CT, NYC, Charlotte NC, Stamford CT, Alpharetta GA, or Morristown NJ. Must have strong claims knowledge, independent work habits, and applicable licenses.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of property casualty claims experience.
• Strong knowledge of the general insurance industry and regulatory requirements.
• Required adjuster licenses for NY and FL; Texas license preferred.
• Strong investigative, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and produce detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims per policy terms and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze coverage issues, establish reserves, and manage disputed claims through resolution.
• Review claim estimates, billings, and related documentation for accurate financial outcomes.
• Identify and pursue subrogation and other recovery opportunities when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation and system records, providing timely information to stakeholders.
