Job summary

The Dougherty County Tax & Tag Department is hiring for a Principal Appraiser to complete the valuation and assessment of real property in the county. This position works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

Essential duties include field appraisals, data accuracy checks, assisting other appraisers, and preparing cases for Board of Assessor/Appeal presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related major.
• Four (4) years of appraisal experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and Georgia Appraiser III Certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs field appraisals of commercial and residential properties.
• Checks accuracy of data and enters into computerized appraisal system.
• Reviews and prepare cases for Board of Assessor/Appeal presentations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related major

Four (4) years appraisal experience or equivalent

Georgia Appraiser III Certification

Driver’s license
