Piatt Companies is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to own the monthly close and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial and mixed-use properties. You will manage property-level accounting and reporting end to end and serve as a go-to resource for property managers and the Controller.

The role requires leading monthly closes, preparing statements, and collaborating with property managers, with close deadlines and accuracy at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preference for commercial real estate.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Lead monthly and year-end close for property portfolio, post journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analyses with property managers.
• Compute CAM reconciliations, leasehold improvements, and depreciation & amortization.
• Prepare lender reporting and debt covenant calculations.
• Support annual budget process and audits/tax filings.
• Process cash receipts and assist with special accounting projects.

Piatt Companies is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to own the monthly close and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial and mixed-use properties. You will manage property-level accounting and reporting end to end and serve as a go-to resource for property managers and the Controller.

What you'll do

• Lead the monthly and year-end close for an assigned property portfolio, including posting journal entries, managing tenant receivables and billings, completing bank reconciliations, amortizing prepaids and deferred loan costs, and other various balance sheet reconciliations


• Working with the respective property manager to complete monthly financial statements and variance analyses comparing actuals to budget and prior year


• Prepare annual CAM reconciliations and tenant estimate billings


• Account for fixed assets, tenant improvements, leasing commissions, and straight-line rent


• Prepare lender reporting and debt covenant calculations


• Support the annual budget process with property managers


• Assist the Controller with the annual audit and tax return filings


• Perform remote and physical deposits for cash receipts


• Support senior members of the accounting team with special projects

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of US GAAP


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, experience with Yardi Voyager and/or Lone Wolf accounting software a plus


• Excellent time management and organizational skills
