Job summary

Piatt Companies is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the monthly close and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial and mixed-use properties. You will manage property-level accounting and reporting end to end and serve as a go-to resource for property managers and the Controller.

You will lead the monthly and year-end close, prepare financial statements, CAM reconciliations, and lender reporting while supporting budgets and audits.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of US GAAP accounting.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience with Yardi Voyager and Lone Wolf is a plus.
• Excellent time management, organization, and communication.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and year-end close for a property portfolio, including posting journal entries, managing tenant receivables and billings, completing bank reconciliations, amortizing prepaids and deferred loan costs, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
• Work with property managers to prepare monthly financial statements and variance analyses comparing actuals to budget and prior year.
• Prepare CAM reconciliations and tenant estimate billings.
• Account for fixed assets, TI, leasing commissions, and straight-line rent.
• Prepare lender reporting and debt covenant calculations.
• Support the annual budget process with property managers.
• Assist the Controller with annual audit and tax return filings.
• Handle remote and physical deposits for cash receipts.
• Support senior accounting staff with special projects.

What you'll do

Education and Experience
