Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to join the Solid Rocket Motor Propellant team in Hampton, AR. The Sr. Chemical Engineer will oversee curing and testing of propellant samples and collaborate with chemists and customer formulators.

The role involves operating chemical production equipment, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring safety and quality in a climate-controlled environment. Solid rocket motor propellant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in engineering with 5–7 years of experience.
• Engineering major required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Designs process flows and equipment layout for chemical operations.
• Plans sequence of operations and writes procedures for materials and equipment.
• Balances process design by considering cost, yield, safety and waste.
• Conducts tests across processing stages to monitor variables and troubleshoot.
• May lead projects or mentor colleagues within the job area.
