Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. The role focuses on mechanical design, integration, and analysis for solid propulsion systems, including motor cases, nozzles, insulation, joints, and interfaces.

This position can be remote or at Huntsville, AL, Niceville, FL, or Hampton, AR facilities. The ideal candidate will lead mechanical design activities, create CAD models and drawings, and

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience.
• Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and test mechanical components for solid rocket motors.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and specifications for hardware.
• Guide interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and reports.
• Perform detailed thermal analysis of motor components.
• Lead design reviews and communicate findings.
