General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. The ideal candidate has experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer for solid rocket motors, including integration of propulsion systems, mechanical design, mass properties, and integration of sub-assemblies.

This role involves CAD modeling, drawings, and specifications for hardware such as motor cases, nozzles, insulation, joints, and interfaces.

Qualifications

• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience
• Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsabilités

• Design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and reports.
• Confer with engineers to implement procedures, resolve malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Researches design proposals and data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
• Specifies system components or directs modification to meet specifications.
• Investigates equipment failures and makes recommendations to maintenance crew.
• Collaborates with analysts to ensure designs meet performance and manufacturing requirements.
• Supports full product lifecycle from concept to testing and manufacturing.
