Job summary

RR Donnelley (RRD) is seeking a detail-oriented Proofreader/Editor to support on-site document proofreading in Kentucky. You will correct spelling, grammar, and verbiage in complex legal documents and ensure accuracy against markup, while meeting strict deadlines.

You will oversee proofreading tasks, coordinate workflow, and train junior staff, using MS Word and related tools. The role includes a $1.75/hour shift differential on the 2nd shift and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Strong grammar and composition rules required for editing and proofreading.
• English, journalism, proofreading experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint desired.

Responsibilities

• Proofread according to established policies and procedures.
• Identify and correct spelling, grammar, and verbiage in complex legal documents.
• Check corrected proofs against mark-up for quality assurance.
• Detect formatting errors and coordinate corrections with team.
• Oversee proofreading assignments and workflow within the team.
• Troubleshoot more complex requests and related software/hardware issues.
• Use logs/tracking software for all assigned work and meet deadlines.
• Communicate with peers, supervisor, or client about deadlines.
• Assist document services teams with production and preparation as needed.
• Train junior staff and maintain client relationships.
• Interact with clients in person, phone, or electronically.
