Job summary

Kiewit Water Facilities South District seeks a Director-level Sponsor to lead major water and wastewater construction programs in Westlake, TX. You provide executive direction, protect the business case, and ensure safety, quality, schedule, and financial goals are achieved across projects.

As the primary link between project teams, district leadership, clients, and partners, you will oversee governance, risk, and performance, while supporting the Project Manager and guiding strategic decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction with leadership on large, complex projects.
• Experience leading multi-million-dollar contracts with accountability for operations, safety, quality, and financial performance.
• Experience with water or wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, conveyance systems, or similar heavy civil work.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project controls, cost forecasting, scheduling, risk management, and change management.

Responsibilities

• Champion the project across the organization and communicate its business purpose, value, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Provide executive leadership, business expertise, and guidance to the Project Manager and broader leadership team.
• Serve as the link between project execution, district leadership, the client, and partners.
• Maintain accountability for safety, quality, financial performance, schedule, client satisfaction, and contractual compliance.
• Oversee project controls, forecasting, risk and opportunity management, change management, and executive reporting.
• Make or elevate decisions beyond the Project Manager’s authority on resources, priorities, and contractual matters.
• Lead executive project reviews and ensure timely recovery plans when targets are missed.
• Develop project leaders and support succession planning and high-performance culture.
