Job summary

Genesco Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to turn approved initiatives into clear, decision-ready project packages. You will define scope, requirements, value, costs, resources, milestones, risks, and approvals aligned with PMO standards.

The role leads mobilization, governance, and readiness before handing a structured package to delivery teams. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of IT project management experience, preferably in retail or fashion, with strong stakeholder influence and experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of progressive IT project management experience with success in initiation, discovery, planning, governance, and executive support.
• Experience in fast-paced retail, fashion, or footwear environments preferred.
• Experience managing internal, vendor, and offshore teams.
• Strong knowledge of PMO stage gates, financial approvals, risk and dependency management, and vendor delivery models.
• PMO or project governance certifications (PMP, Agile, ITIL) preferred.
• Excellent facilitation, organization, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and turn concepts into project definitions, high-level plans, timelines, budgets, resource needs, scope, requirements, milestones, and deliverables.
• Guide approved initiatives through financial governance, approvals, and PMO stage gates.
• Coordinate stakeholders across business, IT, and vendors; brief internal or outsourced delivery teams.
• Deliver concise status updates on risks, dependencies, and readiness during mobilization and handoff.
• Support governance continuity across regions while accommodating regional requirements.
