Job summary

SpecSys Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design work for mobile equipment, including structural, fluid power and powertrain systems.

You will manage projects, provide direction to engineers, and collaborate with manufacturing and project managers to ensure on-time, on-budget, done right, done safely delivery. Responsibilities include CAD design, FEM/analysis, BOMs, manuals, and supplier coordination.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in mechanical, agricultural, electrical or aerospace engineering.
• 8+ years of proven project experience.
• Experience leading engineers and interfacing with Manufacturing Operations, Sales, Clients and Quality.
• MBA or MS in engineering is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Verifying the design meets performance and configuration specifications.
• Contract management to verify the project is completed on time and on budget.
• Customer management to understand expectations and standards.
• Providing work instructions for engineers, designers and drafters.
• Coordinating resources of project teams.
• Developing and updating project timelines.
• Providing performance and status of projects in timely fashion to management.
• Performing engineering calculations to verify compliance with design requirements.
• Providing technical data to the client, engineers, designers, drafters, operations and management.
• Overseeing requisite project analysis to verify qualitative integrity.
• Directing preparation and presentation of progress reports for the customer.
• Preparing project review booklets and present to the customer.
• Specifying and sourcing purchase components to be used.
• Specifying materials to be used in design.
• Developing design concepts to perform project function reviews.
• Working on multiple CAD packages.
• Reviewing CAD models for completeness, interferences, and manufacturability.
• Reviewing detail drawings for completeness, accuracy, and client standards.
• Reviewing and update model and drawing tolerances.
• Generating and reviewing bill of materials for completeness.
• Updating and tracking action / issue items.
