This role involves managing assigned projects throughout their lifecycle, including developing scope and technical sections of proposals and procurement documents, participating in contract negotiations, and overseeing project delivery to meet HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: quality, on time, on budget, and client satisfaction. The position requires proactive management of budgets, schedules, technical and contractual requirements, and client communications. It includes high-level technical tasks, reviewing design specifications, calculations, reports, and plans, and coordinating with internal and external teams to resolve design issues. Typically, the Senior Project Manager manages multi-disciplinary teams for projects valued between $1M and $25M.

What You'll Do:

1. Develop project scope and fee quotations, and assist in preparing technical proposals and contracts following HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
2. Serve as the primary client liaison, managing project teams to deliver scope, schedule, and budget, and lead client contract negotiations.
3. Perform technical tasks including analysis, reports, design, specifications, and production for assigned projects.
4. Implement the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA), leading project management plan development and execution, supervising and mentoring team members.
5. Oversee project staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, and performance reviews.
6. Collaborate with Client Service Leaders and pursuit teams to support business development, build client relationships, and pursue mega projects, preparing proposal and presentation materials, and leading presentations.
7. May be responsible for recruiting, hiring, developing, and retaining staff, including performance and compensation planning.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience.
• At least 4 years of successful management of engineering projects.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven success in delivering multi-disciplinary or large/complex projects on time, on budget, with quality and client satisfaction, including risk and change management.
• Experience leading large teams, including managing sub-consultants.
• Ability to use system tools for project management and monitoring.
• Experience leading HNTB's sophisticated processes applicable to the project.
• Ability to serve as the main client interface.
• Talent deployment and development of successors for ongoing client work.

What We Prefer:

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 15 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
