Salary:

Welty Energy, an affiliate of Welty, is a professional services company specializing in program and project management, transmission line engineering, substation engineering, and construction oversight on transmission, substation, and distribution projects ranging in voltages from 4kV to 765kV.

Welty Energy is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our substation transmission team! You will lead the project management team responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all activities for engineering, design, procurement, and construction of major capital projects and programs. This role is pivotal for managing high-complexity projects and/or programs.

This role is remote with travel to client sites as required (15-20%) and applicants must be based in the Williamsport, MD to Frederick, MD area.

Key responsibilities may include:

• Coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with the client regarding project matters.
• Implement safety and health programs, promoting safe work practices.
• Implement environmental programs focusing on environmental protection as per company policies and regulations.
• Foster a client-centric culture to build trust and confidence, enhancing stakeholder value.
• Conduct technical reviews of specifications, drawings, contracts, and other documents to ensure constructability and compliance with standards.
• Lead project planning and status meetings to ensure schedule and budget adherence.
• Provide regular updates on project schedules, costs, and progress to management teams.
• Oversee construction package reviews, pre-award meetings, and site visits.
• Act as the main contact for construction-related submittals and documentation.
• Manage outage planning and communication to prevent schedule conflicts.
• Ensure permits and approvals are obtained timely for fieldwork.
• Mentor and train project team members.
• Drive team performance through effective meetings and collaboration.
• Manage project estimates, budgets, schedules, and activities following project management principles.
• Distribute weekly project status reports to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or relevant utility project management experience.
• At least eight years of experience in project management or related fields, with five years specifically in project management roles; utility industry knowledge preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Effective leadership and organizational skills.
