Job summary

The NYC Campaign Finance Board is seeking a project management leader to drive large, public-facing projects with strategic systems thinking and cross-functional collaboration.

You will coordinate day-to-day tasks, align stakeholders, and translate complex requirements into clear plans, timelines, and accountability across Marketing, Digital Communications, and Outreach. A strong candidate brings governance, risk management, and measurable process improvements to a dynamic public agency.

Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of project management methodologies and the ability to determine which approaches are appropriate based on project size, risk, complexity, stakeholder needs, and organizational context.
• Knowledge of change management practices, including how to guide teams through process changes, new tools, evolving requirements, and shifting priorities.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation practices, including identifying operational, budgetary, timeline, accessibility, language access, vendor, and reputational risks early and developing escalation paths.
• Ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects with limited oversight and escalate risks or resource needs when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead across day-to-day task coordination and bring strategic systems thinking to complex, public-facing projects.
• Align stakeholders with competing needs, translate requirements into clear plans, roles, timelines, and accountability structures.
• Identify operational risks early and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
