Job summary

LJA Engineering, Inc. seeks a Senior Project Manager for its Land Development and Public Planning teams. You will lead the Placemaking + Resilience Group, guide urban design efforts, and mentor professionals while collaborating with clients and government agencies.

ideal candidate has extensive municipal planning experience, strong leadership, and a track record in business development. This role emphasizes strategic growth, budget oversight, and effective communication.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in City Planning, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
AICP certification or ability to acquire.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership within the Placemaking + Resilience Group to strengthen client relationships and team capabilities.
Lead a team of public planning professionals delivering community planning and urban/landscape design.
Advise councils, boards, commissions and officials on planning and design issues.
Serve as liaison and support public client planning and development departments.
Evaluate reports, recommend improvements, and support budget decisions.
Develop and supervise public outreach campaigns for planning efforts.
Develop and market the company to existing and new clients.
Support business development through responses to RFPs/RFQs and presentations.
Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for projects.
