Job summary

LJA is seeking a Sr. Project Manager in Austin, TX to lead the Public Planning team within the Placemaking + Resilience Group. You will oversee advanced planning and design activities, mentor staff, and drive project profitability for public sector city planning and design projects.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and business development skills with experience managing client relationships and collaborating with governmental agencies. Masters and AICP are valued assets.

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s Degree in City Planning, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or related field.
Masters Degree preferred.
AICP Certification or ability to acquire.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership within the Placemaking + Resilience Group to strengthen client relationships and team capabilities.
Lead a team of public planning professionals producing community planning, urban and landscape design.
Advise councils, boards, and officials on planning and design issues.
Serve as liaison supporting public client planning and development departments.
Evaluate operations, prepare reports, and recommend improvements.
Develop scope, budget, and schedule for projects.
