X-Team International is a fully remote, part-time contractor role delivering a new iOS and Android app for a major music/film/tech festival. You’ll run sprints, maintain a large Jira backlog, and align with the client’s Product Owner and Project Manager to hit fixed release dates.

About the Role

This is a Part Time and contractor role through X-Team. You’ll lead delivery of a new iOS and Android app for one of the world’s largest annual festivals of music, film, and technology. The new app is a custom build that replaces a white-label vendor app attendees struggled with.

You’ll work inside the client’s team, alongside their Product Owner and Project Manager. Your job is to run sprints, keep a 74-feature Jira backlog aligned with four planned app versions, and catch API, data, and design dependencies before they turn into blockers.

The launch date doesn’t move. The festival starts when it starts. The app has to be approved by both app stores and ready for a big spike in traffic when reservations open.

Most Important

• Senior-level experience managing consumer-facing mobile app launches on both iOS and Android.
• Proven delivery against fixed, non-negotiable release dates, including planning around Apple App Store and Google Play review timelines.
• Hands-on Jira expertise in backlog management, scope tracking against version releases, and clear acceptance criteria.
• Track record of spotting and escalating API, data, and design dependencies across teams early.
• Experience working inside a client’s team, using their existing rituals, tools, and processes.
• Clear written and verbal communication with both engineering leads and non-technical business stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Project management experience at large-scale event, ticketing, entertainment, or media organizations.
• Experience moving a product from a white-label vendor solution to a custom, in-house build.
• You ask executive, commercial, and operations leaders for the sign-offs and assets you need, and you follow up until you get them.
• You protect scope openly. When a late request arrives, you show the trade-off instead of quietly stretching the sprint.
• You stay calm when a dependency slips. You re-plan around the core attendee experience instead of rushing in lower-priority features.
• You learn how the client’s team already works and earn their trust before suggesting changes to the process.
