Job description

Senior Project Manager - OPM Firm

$180000 - $225000 per year | Cambridge, MA | On-site | Permanent

Join a trusted OPM firm with a large amount of repeat business from some of the area's largest institutions and corporations
A bit about us:

This company is a Cambridge, MA-based owner's project management and development management firm serving corporate, life science, higher education, mission-critical, investor/developer, and not-for-profit clients throughout the Greater Boston area. For over a decade, our client has built a reputation for delivering complex, high-stakes real estate and construction projects on behalf of building owners, guiding everything from initial planning and design oversight through construction management and project closeout. The firm's project portfolio spans large-scale lab and office builds, corporate tenant fit-outs, student housing, and specialized recreational and mission-critical facilities, working alongside some of the region's most recognized institutional and corporate names.

Why join us?
  • Competitive base salary of $180,000-225,000 (contingent on experience)
  • A firm built on trust, not transactions. The vast majority of this company's business comes from clients who return project after project, providing a track record that speaks to the quality of the work and the relationships behind it.
  • Deep, hands-on involvement. Team members aren't kept at arm's length from clients. This company prides itself on active, embedded partnership on every assignment, immersing quickly into each client's culture and operations rather than working at a distance.
  • Meaningful project variety. You'll work across multiple sectors including life science labs, corporate interiors, higher education, and mission-critical facilities, rather than being boxed into a single asset type.
  • A culture that values steady, dependable delivery. This company has built its name on predictable, well-managed outcomes rather than chasing volume, giving project managers the support and structure needed to do the job right.
  • Room to grow. As a mid-sized, partner-led firm, there's visibility into leadership and a real path to increased ownership and responsibility as you prove yourself.
Job Details
  • 10–15 years of relevant industry experience, with a strong background in Owner's Project Management (OPM) required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex capital projects from planning/design through construction and closeout, ideally across multiple asset types (life science, corporate/commercial, higher education, or similar institutional settings).
  • Proven ability to represent ownership interests directly with architects, engineers, and general contractors/construction managers, including budget oversight, schedule management, and risk mitigation.
  • Strong working knowledge of design and construction processes, procurement/bidding, and contract administration.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly and adapt to a range of organizational cultures.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, MCPPO) a plus.
  • Based in or willing to work primarily in the Greater Boston/Cambridge, MA area.
