Job summary

Jamail & Smith Construction in Austin, TX, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects from preconstruction to closeout. You will coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep schedules and budgets on track.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial construction experience, with JOC or public-sector exposure considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience in K-12, higher education, government, or municipal construction preferred.
• Job Order Contracting (JOC) experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, estimating, budgeting, subcontractor management, and project documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Procore or similar construction management software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost projections, and documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.
• Prepare estimates, proposals, change orders, progress reports, and cost-tracking reports.
• Manage subcontractor scopes, contracts, procurement, and performance.
• Partner with Superintendents to maintain schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
• Lead project meetings and maintain regular communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work.
• Monitor project costs and proactively address budget or schedule concerns.
• Manage permitting, inspections, and project closeout requirements.
• Resolve construction issues, delays, and scope conflicts as they arise.
• Build strong client relationships and support opportunities for repeat work.
