Job summary

Jamail & Smith Construction, LP is expanding into Louisiana and seeks an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent for the Baton Rouge market. You will serve as on-site leader for day-to-day field execution, coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and authorities to complete projects safely and on schedule.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of commercial construction, public-sector delivery experience (JOC/IDIQ), and a track record of managing occupied facilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience with strong field leadership.
• Experience with Job Order Contracting (JOC) or other fast-paced public-sector delivery methods.
• Experience working in occupied facilities (K-12, higher ed, government) is highly valued.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred; equivalent field leadership experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations from mobilization through closeout.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, material deliveries, and daily site activities.
• Manage multiple fast-paced JOC projects and assignments.
• Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and drive milestones.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, clients, and trade partners to ensure safety, schedule adherence, and quality.
