Job summary

AFRY USA seeks a Project Manager II to lead complex, cross-functional projects, defining scope, budgets, resources, and schedules, while proactively mitigating risk. This role ensures stakeholder satisfaction and represents the company in contract execution across all project phases.

Responsibilities include developing project plans, managing the client contract, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and quality, and coordinating with design teams and engineers.

Qualifications

  • Must possess in-depth knowledge and a working background in project management principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architectural discipline or equivalent combination of academic training and related engineering experience.
  • Prefer 5 years of engineering experience with a minimum of 2 to 7 years of managing projects.
  • Familiarity with project accounting, estimating, and scheduling procedures and systems is preferred.
  • Professional registration as an engineer or architect is preferred.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to make effective presentations to clients and technical groups.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, cross-functional projects by defining scope, budgets, resources, and schedules and mitigate risk to satisfy stakeholders.
  • Develop written project plans establishing the charter, scope of work, cost, and schedule parameters.
  • Manage the project per AFRY USALLC PM Procedures and client contract.
  • Ensure compliance with scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Serve as client liaison, leading meetings and conferences with authority to speak for the company.
  • Supervise personnel assigned to the project team including engineers and support staff.
  • Continuously monitor project status and inform management of developments affecting scope, schedule, budget, or quality.
  • Participate in contract change negotiations with the client.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, marketing material, and technical presentations.
  • Prepare Project Procedures Manual, Design Criteria Document, and Field Procedure Manual and other project controls.
  • Coordinate information flow to the design team and disseminate to relevant parties.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines for project continuity.
  • Monitor/report scope, schedule, and costs; prepare monthly reports and earned value reports; plan resource loading.
