Job summary

Mortenson seeks a Senior Project Manager II – Structured Cabling to lead large projects with a focus on quality, schedule, safety, and client relations. You will mentor the project team and maintain strong communication with owners and on-site staff.

The role requires up to 100% travel and a track record of managing multi-million-dollar projects. Competitive base pay and Mortenson’s incentive plan are included.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices.
  • Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise financial health of projects and maintain projections.
  • Allocate estimates into the financial system and approve invoices.
  • Provide financials and billings to Accounting; create monthly owner billings.
  • Manage subcontracts, suppliers, budget, and selections.
  • Lead Assistant PMs and Project Engineers; mentor staff.
  • Be the main owner contact; address site concerns and approvals.
  • Maintain schedule, budget, quality, risk, safety, and compliance.
  • Determine cost codes and manage budget decisions.

Job description

Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager II - Structured Cabling that will provide overall leadership direction to one large project or multiple projects to include the management of project quality, timeliness, safety, as well as mentoring the project team. You will develop and improve customer relationships by providing excellent service. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary as you will be interacting with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise overall financial health of projects while developing and maintaining project financial and equipment projections
  • Allocate project estimates into the financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices
  • Provide financials and billings to Accounting, create monthly owner billings
  • Handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage budget and selections
  • Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, provide job assignments and training, manage career development
  • Function as main point of contact with owner and on-site representative and resolve site concerns, handle change orders, and obtain necessary customer/architect approvals
  • Maintain schedule and budget, manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance
  • Determine cost codes, approve invoices, manage budget decisions
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
  • Current driver’s license
  • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
  • Ability to travel up to 100%
Senior Project Manager II
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ten years of construction management or related experience with large projects ($20M+)
  • The base pay range for this role is $158,900 - $-238,400

(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
