Job summary

Modern Mechanical Systems, Inc. in Farmington, CT, is seeking a Project Manager to plan and supervise projects from start to finish.

You will coordinate all aspects from purchasing materials to scheduling installations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while delivering an exceptional client experience. The role requires strong supervisory skills, construction knowledge, and proficiency with estimating software.

Qualifications

• College degree and/or minimum five years field supervisory experience required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Basic building construction knowledge preferred (HVAC & plumbing experience beneficial).
• Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Onscreen Takeoff).

Responsibilities

• Award all scopes of work on a timely basis, including taxes and insurance.
• Draft subcontracts to be thorough, complete, and all-inclusive i.e. payment terms, safety policies or requirements, insurance requirements, etc.
• Coordinate preparation of submittals
• Coordinate the preparation of PO’s
• Write change orders and update Change Order Log
• Attend kick-off meeting with Field Supervisor to discuss the job and products
• Procurement of materials and track lead times
• Attend job site meetings as required
• Coordination with subcontractors
• Order hardware required for installation
• Provide Field Supervisor with installation instructions and hardware needed for all products
• Provide consistent communication and follow-up with customers, vendors, and subcontractors
• Analyze Cost Reports
