Metric Geo is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead major heavy civil construction projects in the St. Louis area. You will own project performance, drive profitability, and influence the growth of the operation through hands-on leadership of teams, subcontractors, and project partners.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy civil settings, with a background in earthwork, utilities, and site development. Excellent communication and client relations are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects.
• Experience in earthwork, grading, excavation, underground utilities, paving or site development.
• Experience on DOT, municipal, commercial, or public-sector projects.
• Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, contracts and change management.
• Proven ability to lead project teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage heavy civil projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, costs, and overall financial performance.
• Lead project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field operations.
• Maintain strong relationships with owners, municipalities, DOTs, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and change orders.
• Identify opportunities to improve project margins and operational efficiency.
• Support estimating, bidding, and project development activities.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.
• Help develop and maintain long-term client and industry relationships.
