Job summary

The AES Corporation, a leading power company, seeks a Project Manager SCGT to manage simple-cycle gas turbine projects from planning to turnover. You will work across matrixed teams and external partners to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy projects on schedule.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of energy construction experience, strong project-management skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple disciplines, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 5–10 years in power generation, industrial, or energy construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of project execution, schedules, budgets, risk, safety, and documentation.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and resolve complex issues.
• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, organizational and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead or manage execution of combustion turbines, generators, fuel-gas systems, electrical systems and site infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain project execution plan, governance, schedule, budget, forecast, risk register, change log, and dashboards.
• Define scopes of work, support RFP development, bid evaluation, clarifications, negotiations, and contract readiness.
• Act as Owner's representative with EPC contractors, OEMs, engineering firms, utilities, suppliers, regulators, customers, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate Development, Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Finance, Legal, Environmental and Safety teams.
• Oversee design reviews, constructability, value engineering, interface control, and issue resolution for safe delivery.
• Manage contractor schedules, budgets, scope, quality plans, safety expectations, subcontractors, and permits.
• Track long-lead equipment, fabrication, logistics, site readiness, installation, testing and turnover.
• Lead project status reviews and communicate progress, risks, mitigation actions, and required support.
• Coordinate utility, interconnection, customer, and regulatory interfaces for the project.
• Oversee mechanical completion, energization, commissioning, startup, testing, punch-list and turnover to Operations.
