Job summary

Luse Contracting Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to drive environmental projects across the Chicagoland area, including asbestos abatement, lead, and demolition work. You will develop estimates, manage contracts, and oversee project execution with a focus on safety, schedule, and profitability.

The role demands 7+ years in the field, strong Excel and estimating skills, and the ability to build client relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in asbestos abatement or environmental contracting.
• Proven ability to estimate and manage a substantial annual portfolio of projects.
• Strong knowledge of abatement methods, containment procedures, labor productivity, waste handling, and safety regulations.
• Financial acumen including budgeting, cost forecasting, and contract administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with computerized estimating and field takeoffs preferred.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• OSHA 30 training and asbestos/lead licenses/certifications preferred.
• Associate's degree or higher preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Identify, estimate, and secure profitable asbestos, lead, mold, demolition, and environmental projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, owners, consultants, and partners.
• Manage active pipeline, negotiate scope and pricing, and contribute to backlog forecasting.
• Take ownership of projects from estimate to closeout, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and profitability.
• Collaborate with field leadership on manpower, schedules, containment, equipment, and logistics.
• Proactively resolve project challenges and manage changes to protect outcomes.
• Own project financial performance, budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts, and timely billing.
