Job summary

A&D Technology in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex, customer-facing engineering projects from order to acceptance. You will coordinate across engineering, sales, vendors, and internal teams to deliver safe, profitable, on-schedule solutions that meet technical requirements.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in electrical and mechanical engineering, proven PM experience, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of related test facility engineering design experience, or a master's degree with at least 2 years of design/PM experience.
• Strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering concepts, data acquisition systems, electronics, instrumentation, and test system design.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving customers, internal technical teams, vendors, subcontractors, schedule constraints, budget expectations, and technical deliverables.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project or similar project planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple engineering and test system integration projects from point of sale through customer acceptance.
• Serve as the primary customer contact for project scope, specifications, contractual requirements, schedule, budget, and change management.
• Build and manage project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, resource needs, material requirements, and labor plans.
• Monitor project performance, costs, gross margin, risks, milestones, and deliverables; provide timely status updates and weekly reporting.
• Coordinate closely with engineering, sales, purchasing, production, vendors, and subcontractors to keep projects moving and resolve issues quickly.
• Support proposal and estimating activities by defining milestones, clarifying requirements, identifying scope and risk, and partnering with engineering teams to develop material and labor estimates.
• Work with customers and sales engineers to confirm technical scope, project requirements, and special deliverables for customer proposals.
• Maintain accurate project, estimate, specification, and change documentation in the appropriate systems and archives.
• Travel periodically to customer sites to support project execution, review progress, and strengthen customer relationships.
