Job summary

Gensler is seeking a Project Manager/Design Manager for its Denver, CO office to lead high-performance critical facilities projects, including data centers and mission-critical environments. You will oversee scope, budgets, and schedules while guiding a team of designers and engineers.

The role emphasizes client liaison, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Relevant architecture PM experience and a professional license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in architecture or related field.
• 15+ years experience in architecture and project management.
• Licensed or certification preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Experience negotiating project scope, fees, and financial performance.
• Experience with full project lifecycle and post-occupancy.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards and structures.
• Proficiency with project management software (MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Provide project leadership to client and team by communicating objectives, scope, terms, and schedule.
• Provide strategically minded design support for organization, production and execution of projects.
• Manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project setup with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and contractors.
• Prepare project proposals and negotiate contracts and fees; bid projects to multiple general contractors.
• Track and manage financial performance of project for success (work plan, schedule, fees, change orders, billings and collections).
• Manage project lifecycle; estimating, bidding, kickoff, weekly coordination, punch list, turnover, opening, and close-out.
• Guide and mentor junior designers, assisting in leading multiple projects at a high level.
• Work with team across office to promote inter-disciplinary design and quality.
