Job summary

SOLTESZ in Lanham, MD is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead civil engineering and land development teams. You will manage projects from initiation to completion, mentor engineers and designers, and develop strong client relationships while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

About this position

Soltesz is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Lanham office. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven civil engineering professional who is ready to lead project teams, develop strong client relationships, mentor employees, and contribute to the continued growth of a successful land development engineering firm.

The Senior Project Manager will oversee civil engineering and land development projects while providing direct supervision, leadership, and mentorship to engineers and designers. This position will also manage project financial performance, schedules, quality, client satisfaction, and business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage civil engineering and land development projects from initiation through completion
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and provide responsive, high-quality service
• Lead, supervise, and mentor engineers, designers, and other project team members
• Coordinate staff assignments, workloads, and project priorities
• Oversee quality control and technical review of project plans and deliverables
• Manage project schedules, budgets, profitability, and invoicing
• Develop proposals, scopes of work, and project fee estimates
• Provide employees with regular feedback, coaching, and recognition
• Collaborate with senior leadership to support company goals and strategic priorities
• Build and maintain client relationships and support business development activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Active Professional Engineer license in Maryland
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering and land development design
• At least five years of experience managing and developing staff
• Strong technical ability to develop and review plans and collaborate with engineers, planners, and surveyors
• Experience working on projects in suburban Maryland preferred
• Experience with Prince George’s County projects and approval processes is a plus
• Excellent project management, organizational, and delegation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment to client service, quality, and team development
