Requirements

The Senior Project Manager manages large, complex projects from design through construction and closeout, coordinating with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and operations staff. Responsibilities include:

• Securing project approvals from university entities, government agencies, and community groups.
• Developing and maintaining project budgets, schedules, and standards.
• Overseeing design reviews and supporting campus projects.
• Conducting site inspections to evaluate contractor performance.
• Designing small projects and resolving planning issues, utilizing CADD and data management tools.
• Handling special projects requiring technical expertise.

Work Interactions

This role reports to the Assistant Director of Capital Projects and manages multiple projects with budgets ranging from $5K to $50M. The incumbent coordinates design issues with various university departments and manages project teams of 5-20 members, ensuring contractor and consultant accountability.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Construction, or Project Management.
• Five to ten years of experience in facilities design, construction, and contract administration.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in report writing, presentations, and code analysis.
• Knowledge of CADD, MS Project, Primavera, and MS Office.
• State registration as an Engineer or Architect is preferred.
