Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the design and management of large capital projects for aggregate processing plants and rail/marine distribution facilities as part of the East Division engineering team.

Location includes Raleigh, Greensboro, Charlotte, or Atlanta, with frequent travel. Requires 5+ years in related fields, PE/PMP preferred, and proficiency with AutoCAD, AggFlow, Belt Analyst, and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining, civil, or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in aggregate processing, bulk material handling, and construction management.
• PE license and PMP certification preferred.
• Experience with processing systems including conveyors, screens, crushers, pumping, and washing systems.
• Experience with AggFlow, Belt Analyst, AutoCAD, and construction surveying.
• Experience with Microsoft Project.
• Ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings and oversee concrete installation and steel fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex engineering projects to ensure completion on time and within budget, from conception to completion.
• Prepare bid documents, review bids and recommend vendor selection.
• Coordinate mechanical and civil installation with other teams.
• Plan, design, and estimate project schedule and cost for capital projects in aggregate processing facilities.
• Prepare project scope, budget, and designs for large EPC capital projects in aggregate processing, process water systems, marine/rail terminals, and civil sitework.
• Anticipate issues regarding schedule, budget, and safety and implement mitigation.
• Communicate project status and deliverables to division management.
• Provide processing knowledge and troubleshooting for plants.
• Direct contractors and plant personnel during construction and commissioning activities.
• Prepare technical documentation to support field execution and record-keeping.
• Manage multiple projects across the East Division area.
• Oversee QA/QC inspection on project equipment and materials.
• Support project commissioning and handover to operations.
• Ensure projects comply with company guidelines and standards.
• Ensure site safety and environmental compliance.
• Travel frequently across the East Coast (30-50%) and coordinate with stakeholders.
